My due date has come and passed. I have been in such a strange mood all day. I woke with the feeling as if it were my birthday- Happy Due Date to me!......but as the day went on, I turned into an anxious, antsy, bored mess. I feel like a time bomb. I know I am about to undergo something so huge in my life, I know its coming....and all I can do is wait.
I didn't want to get out and run errands, because my legs and back hurt, yet I felt cooped up in the house. I found myself wishing I would just hurry up and go into labor, because at least it would be something to do. I sunbathed in the backyard with the roommates, yes my belly is pink now :) I am so excited to have color on my pale white body- even if it is a rose pink that itches really bad. I will take what I can get at this point. I went to eat at Rojo last night with some friends, thinking wow- this could be the last time I go out to a restaurant that I don't have a baby with me or have to hire a babysitter. It all seems so surreal.
I go to the doctor tomorrow to have an ultrasound. She wants to see how big he is. I am assuming I will schedule a day to be induced this week. I googled "How far past your due date did you go" and some answers from moms were, 8 days, 10 days, 2 weeks!!! wow- That is a long time..... I'm hoping he will be big enough to where I will not have to wait much longer.
Please pray for me and this upcoming change. I am excited, but extremely nervous. I'm scared of being overwhelmed. I'm not going to lie and say I feel like I have it all together. God has blessed me with some amazing strength through all of this, but I am still constantly leaning on Him for guidance. I can't wait to see what my little one will look like. I am excited about bonding with him. Thank you to everyone that has shown me nothing but encouragement and support- It means more than you know....
Love yall-
and maybe the next post will be a pic of my Baby Gabe :)

Nursery Theme
Thought I would give you a "glimpse" into what I am thinking for a nursery theme
My vision is clean, simply, chic, classy, innocent, clutter free.
I know what I do not like:
nothing cheesy
no primary colors
no trains
no trucks
no sports
I don't even want to really refer to this as a "themed" nursery, but just neutral colors with accents.
So I am thinking accents of lambs and sheep. I like the idea of a sheep mobile- kinda like "counting sheep to go to sleep" ha. Ok- maybe that's only funny to me.
My furniture will be expresso or dark brown, so I want to stick with creams, off whites, taupes, and dark brown.
I am going to post pics of stuff I like- If anyone's forte is interior design- feel free to suggest ideas- I am open.
Click on the word "Bedding" to view what bedding I ordered.....
Bedding
I bought this pillow sham and the sheets that you see in the pic. This is from Pottery Barn Kids- I love the whole bedding set, but it is expensive, so I am just trying to play off the idea. Plus I think it will go well with the bedding I have already purchased above.
This is a nightlight I purchased off of Ebay.

I love this mobile! Isn't is soo cute! I just found it on Google images. I am going to see if I can purchase it.

WICKED
THIS IS A MUST SEE!
If you get the opportunity, please please go see Wicked. I saw it for the first time in New York, then again in London, and recently in Birmingham. I was skeptical of the Birmingham performance, thinking it would not be as good as the others since it was a traveling Broadway show. It was amazing! I would rank it right at the top with the New York show. The chemistry and talent of the two main characters couldn't have been better. It is such an entertaining show. The music is incredible. So- please......take advantage of something like this being in Birmingham. It is worth it!

*Notice the petit fours with little blue booties on them~yum!
Above is a collage of pics from my baby shower this past Saturday. As you can see, I am so blessed. I had such a good time with my friends and family. Everyone was so generous. I have pretty much all of the "bigger" items taken care of. I received several gift cards so now I can stock up on diapers, wipes, bottles, and toys for the little one. The shower was held at my friend, Marietta's house. I have babysat for her 3 boys since my freshman year of college. Lea who lives across the street also played a big part in helping (she has 2 boys whom I have babysat since sophomore year). I am so thankful for the friendship I have with these families. They have been such a blessing. I have enjoyed getting to know their kids, receiving advice, and being "in the know" on whats going on in Vestavia- ha. Several of my college friends attended the shower along with my best friend from high school, Cindy. I am so thankful for everyone sacrificing their time, efforts, and money to put this together for me. My grandmother and aunt said everyone was so nice and I have such great friends. I said, "I know!" (in a Monica Gellar voice)- that was for you Hayes. God is so good- I feel that He has instilled in me a new desire to reach out and help those in need. I have seen how everyone has helped me, and I can only hope I would have done the same. I want to make a more conscience effort in reaching out to people or recognizing their struggles. I hope to encourage this in my son as well. How awesome would it be if we could serve side by side in the mission field. What a way to glorify God!
I also had another shower thrown by mostly people from a small group I was involved in. I got a lot of great stuff there too! I don't have pics from that one yet- but will add to this post when I do. It was a lot of fun :)

My Tribute to Dogs
So- I have decided to make an entry dedicated to the dogs in my life. Abby and I watched Marley and Me on Thursday night.......and of course we were sobbing at the end of it. I had been planning all week on going to my parent's house on Saturday to get some things and see Sassy and Java. Dad had told me Java wasn't doing to well and probably wasn't going to make it much longer. I was excited to get to see him at least one more time. I'm sad to say he passed away Friday morning. I didn't get to tell him bye :(. Java- you will be missed bud.
On a lighter note- I did get to see Sassy (family poodle) and my brother came home and brought his puppy, Kyser. Kyser is a full bred Siberian Husky. He is full of energy and very entertaining to observe.
I also have a picture up of Dixie, my roommate's dog. Dixie managed to face plant me in the front yard last week- which made for a nice trip to the hospital to monitor the baby for 3 hours- It's ok Dixie- I am sure that squirrel was very enticing.
And last but not least..... Jack- also known as "Rack" (Julie and Greg's black lab) likes to visit every now and then. He loves to make Dixie jealous, bury huge human looking bones in my pillows, and for some reason thinks I am a squirrel. We are trying to teach him otherwise.
So even though Java passed away and Dixie tried to kill me- having a relationship with a dog is indescribable and well worth it. They are fascinating and will be there for you when no one else will. So this is my shout out- Yay for dogs :)
