Weekend-

Gabe had his first professional photography session on Saturday. He did so good! I was hoping to get a little more smiles out of him, but I can't complain, because he was very content for over an hour in the heat. We went to Botanical Gardens, which by the way was my first time going in all my 6 years in Birmingham. My friend/sorority sister Ashleigh Peak is very talented and made a day trip down from Memphis. Then, after the photo session we drove to Alex City. Gabe was exhausted. He slept on the way. I got there around 7 15, and was in bed at 9 pm. It was amazing! Saturday, Gabe and I went swimming, watched some Reba episodes, and made some homemade fudge and haystacks. Yum-

One thing I can not figure out: Gabe is the best baby I swear (ok, maybe I am biased), but he hardly cries....and if he does it is no more than 3 min. The photo session he was great, Daycare he is great, I just got back from a friend's house where there were about 8 people there...he was great the whole 2 hours.....yet at my parents house, he cries all the time! I'm talking screaming crying for 20 min or so. They think he is such a fussy baby. It is so frustrating, because he really is not. For some reason, he is just not feeling the family farm on Newman Road. I don't know what the deal is....... :(

So- I just watched The Season Finale of the Bachelorette. Jillian chose Ed....they seemed happy, but I was Team Reid. I liked Ed, until he busted out the green "mankini" (Michael Nipp). What was up with those green short shorts???? AWKWARD. From that point on- he just seemed goofy. I am anxious to watch the "After the Rose" show tomorrow night to see if this genuine love has lasted. I really want to go on the next Bachelor show.....then I will learn all the secrets and spill all....I mean come on people, you just can't be in love with more than one person.

Well- Need to go fix some bottles up- and then off to bed.

FatMan

Well Gabe has managed to go through his 3 month size clothes in a matter of a week. He only wore each outfit once! I have learned, do not dry baby clothes, they only get tinier! Here is a pic of him in his little baseball outfit from this morning. Yes, I take pics of him everyday. One of the joys of motherhood- Gabe just threw up on my neck......nice.

Shout out: Happy Birthday Dad! I'm sure he had a nice day on the golf course. Heading home to AC tomorrow

Gabriel Lee Holmes April 28, 2009

My dear Heavenly Father, I come to You now to pray over the life of Gabriel Lee Holmes.

Your Word tells me in Psalm 139:13-18 that you created his inmost being and You knit him together in Alison’s womb. I praise You because You have fearfully and wonderfully made him. I praise You because You have ordained all of the days of his life. God I praise You for being Elohim, Creator God and being the One that has created Gabriel for Your purpose and glory alone.

I pray first and foremost for the day when Salvation will enter into Gabriel’s life. I look forward to the day when Gabriel realizes that he has sin in his life and has a desperate need to be made afresh and anew through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Father, 1 John 1:9 says, that if Gabriel confesses his sin before You, that You are faithful and just and will forgive him of all of his sin and cleanse him of all unrighteousness.

I declare Your authority and covering over Gabriel’s life. I pray a hedge of protection around him and ask that You would assign an angel to watch over him all his days (Psalm 91:11-12). I pray that he would be raised in a way that will bring glory and honor to Your Name. Your Word says in Proverbs 22:6 that if Alison “train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” I pray that You would cause Alison to humbly yield herself to You and seek Your face and wisdom in the way that she should raise Gabriel Lee Holmes. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, Who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” I pray for that wisdom to be given to her now. I thank You for Your faithfulness and generosity Father.

I pray that you would raise Gabriel up to be a mighty warrior for Your Kingdom. I pray that you would use him to bring salvation to the unreached throughout all of the earth. I pray that Your Name would be honored, glorified and magnified in Gabriel’s life. I ask that You would fill Gabriel with the power of Your Holy Spirit and the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Father I thank You for the chance to pray for Gabriel Lee Holmes and thank You for hearing my prayer. In the precious Name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

Gabe's Nursery- Still working on, but this is what I have so far- still need: mobile, artwork, glider, rug, corner bookcase/shelves. It's coming along though!

4th of July

I took Gabe swimming over the 4th of July weekend. He loved it! I figured he would, since he likes bath time so much. Click on the collage of pics to enlarge.

7 week pic

Here is a pic that my friend Ty took with his "nice camera". This is from about 3 weeks ago. So about 7 weeks old.

Update: I am back to work- Gabe is in daycare. The first couple of days were hard. I was sad to leave him. He was so overwhelmed that first week he would get home and sleep till I dropped him off the next day. We are getting adjusted now though. I feel guilty every morning when I wake up, because I am about to leave him. He is still staying up late, but its tolerable. Isn't he getting chunky? ha. I guess that's a good thing.

I will post pics from the 4th soon. I took him swimming, and he loved it! Maybe the next Michael Phelps- pre marijuana incident.
