October 2010 Travels

I was invited to a wedding in Boston in October.  This was my first time to Boston, and I loved it.  The weather was perfect.  Here are a few pics from the trip and wedding.

Wedding

The wedding was really pretty and the reception was tons of fun.  I love a fun wedding!

Tour of Boston

Posing in downtown Boston

Granary Cemetery- dates back to the 1660's.  Bodies that lie here include: Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock, victims of the Boston Massacre (March 1770), Ben Franklin's Parents, and Mother Goose

Holmes' Headstones- maybe we are related?

Boston Common

The North Church (One if by land, Two if by sea)

Inside the Church

U.S.S. Constitution

The famous Mike's Pastry!

The line was out the door....... (supposedly always is)

This is me waiting with excitement.....

I'll take 5 of those....

Our purchases- Confession- I have a bit of a sweet tooth.  Mike's Pastry is known for it's cannoli's...but I had to delight in some other treats as well: Red Velvet Whoopie Pie, Chocoloate Covered Strawberries, Oreo Cheesecake, Black and White Cookie, Lobster Tail (hiding), and Cannoli's!

Heaven

A really trendy hotel- had to get a solo shot by the name

See....trendy lobby.  I love staying in trendy hotels-

This is a stock photo I found of the room- Cool right?  They had fresh Cucumber and Strawberry water offered in the lobby 24/7, complimentary wine from 5:00-6:00 and the staff was most helpful.

Overall Boston was amazing.  We walked the Freedom trail, I tried the Clam Chowder at the oldest pub in Boston, and we ate at Lemoncello's one night.  The best Italian food of my life.  It was here I fell in love with Chianti wine and meat balls. ha.

The restaurante is located on the 'North End'.  The guy who started it, was a bus boy from Italy.  He won the lottery, and brought his family members to America to work in the restaurant.  Please go here if you go to Boston.  The food is amazing.  I will have to go back sometime. My mouth is watering just thinking of it!

July 2010 Travels- Part 2

So continueing on with Oregon.....

After Crater Lake we then traveled to Grants Pass, OR for the Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding.

The Rehearsal Dinner was a ride down the Rogue River which ended at the O.K. Corral for dinner.  The coolest Rehearsal Dinner I've ever been to.

Beautiful Scenery!  The driver liked to have a little fun and spray us every now and again too.  It was awesome.

Walking up to the O.K. Corral

The Wedding

The Wedding was beautiful.  It was outdoors at a vineyard.  I would love to get married on a vineyard.  The reception followed and good times were had by all.

I think I would love to live in Oregon- not sure if I could handle it in the winter though......

July 2010 Travels- Part 1

I was invited to a wedding in Grants Pass, Oregon in July.  I was able to visit Crater Lake, OR- which is by far the most beautiful place I have ever been.  It's the 7th largest lake in the world.  The water is pure blue and surrounded by snow capped mountains.  This lake was formed by the eruptions of several volcanos many many many years ago.  I really recommend adding this place to your bucket list.  We stayed at the Crater Lake lodge, went hiking and enjoyed a boat tour.  July is supposedly the best time of year to go- It's the only month where the snow starts to melt and most roads are useable.  Come the end of August it starts snowing again.  If you go, take bug spray.  The mosquitos are horrible!  They lay eggs in the snow so they are literally everywhere.  You have to spray yourself down multiple times a day- still worth it though!  Here are a few pics.

It was 68 degrees and the sun was beaming- perfection

Huge Beautiful Trees!
