If I were a Boy.......

So the other day I caught myself humming Beyonce's "If I were a boy"....and I thought- hmm, if I were a boy I would have the coolest ties, or I would totally put product in my hair and for sure whiten my teeth (well I have two out of three down now, but you get what I'm sayin!)

So- I thought ooo, wouldn't it be fun to pick out the clothes I would wear if I were a Boy?!?!? haha.
Fact about me: I love buying guy clothes, whether it's for Gabe, my brother, or whatever LUCKY guy is in the picture- ha ;)

So- here it is-

AL's Style Board

Work Wear

Things I'm feeling the most out of this set- the studded tie clip and bottom right tie- hotness!

Casual Wear

Every guy needs to own a v neck white t- it's a staple....

Shoes!!!

I love all of these shoes..... Loving the navy topsiders for summer!

Gotta have accessories....

Staple Silver, Suave Black, and really feeling the Navy watch....

So, like I mentioned earlier- I would def add some product to my hair.  I have a thing for guy's with curly hair, so I had to include my favorite locks of James Franco from the movie Tristan and Isolde.

So, there you have it.  If I were a boy.......  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Flashback Friday

When I was little I loved to perform.....perhaps I still have a part of me that does.  I am always up for a good night of karaoke!  Anyways, So Adam (little bro) did whatever I told him- so I made him dress up in a stone wash black jean jacket with no shirt underneath and a toy guitar.  As you can see, I am in my best country attire singing in a toy Mic- I need to get me Gabe one of those!  My family was gathered around to tune in.  If I had to guess a song, I'd say, we were belting, "Yeah, way down yonder on the chattahoochee, it gets hotter than a hoochie coochie"

And continuing on with me being the mean big sis and making little ole Adam do anything I said- Here is another pic-

Nice legs

Gabe Funnies

This week's funnies are brought to you via video! Go to my blog: www.aleeholmes.blogspot.com if you can't view via email.

Gabe had a fever this past weekend, but kept calling it "beaver" and doing an impression of a beaver!  Cracked me up.
We went to Milos to grab a quick and not so healthy dinner, and he referred to it as "YourLo's or Mommy'sLo's"....I keep trying to say, nooo it's MIIIIILO's and he says yeah, YourLo's!

Weekend Wrap

Hope everyone had a great weekend. “The Hayes Baker” came to Birmingham this past weekend (Woop Woop). She was a bridesmaid in Christina Knox’s (friend from college) wedding. I met the bridal party out for drinks after the rehearsal dinner on Friday night at Black Market Bar. Doesn’t the name give you the feeling it’s going to be a swanky place in which you need to dress up? Well, it’s not. It’s a sports bar. Ha

Hayes and I may have drifted to the Lakeview area after for old times sake. Hayes ordered us hotdogs from the stand out front. It was quite the adventure. We enjoyed them on the way home, all 1.5 each…mmmm.

We ran into Josephine!

Hayes ordering 2 hotdogs that turned into 3

We then got back to my place and watched videos from our adventures in Spain and Rome (Summer 2005)- I need to do a post or two about that! Anyhoo- we stayed up till 4 30 in the morning cracking up at our horrible haircuts and funny personalities walking around the streets of Spain and Rome.

Spain

Rome

Saturday we had lunch at Roly Poly (which I do love), request of Hayes….last time she visited we went to Panera Bread.  I like to think if I hadn't been in Birmingham in 4 years I would pick different places....but hey, I'm not judging (well maybe a little!)

I got a pedicure on Saturday, and I am loving the color-  I don't know why I am feeling dark colors already.  I admit I am ready for fall.  Isn't it pretty though? It's called Smokin Hot.

Saturday evening I went to Christina's wedding.  This was my first wedding to attend on Samford's campus.  The chapel is so pretty, and Christina looked stunning walking down the aisle.
The reception was at B&A Warehouse.  I really like this venue for wedding receptions and was very impressed with the food quality and display.  See pics of the night below:

This was the best tasting cake-  It's from a lady who has trained and worked under Barb's Cakes (she has been featured on TLC)

The Bride!

Instead of a Groom's Cake- they had this sweets table set up.  I wish my camera was better....Anyways, It was a peanut butter moose and a chocolate moose in little mini martini glasses.

Chinese Station- They had little Chinese to go boxes that you could fill with rice and a variety of toppings

Little mini egg rolls- So Cute

So good to see Hayes!

Another Samford run in at the Wedding- p.s My dress has pockets!  I get really excited when a dress has pockets....ha

By the way this weekend I rocked fake lashes- I just wanted to do something different.  I now think they are a must have for an event- Why not? They are super cheap and add some DRAMA to your eye!

And...............BAM!

I also got rid of my high school highlights- Thank goodness!

Weekend Wrap

This past weekend G and I went to AC to visit the fam.  I love driving at night, so I stopped by Starbucks for a venti iced upside skinny caramel macchiato (did you get all that?) and we went on our way.

(Yes, I take pictures of things I might blog about later....it's a great way to live)

Gabe and I had a good weekend.  He fed the animals (horses, goats, and Miss Pig), rode the four wheeler, hung out in the barn and loved every minute of it.  On Saturday we went to Wetumpka to eat at my great aunt and uncle's restaurant, The Hog Rock.  So good!  I had Brunswick Stew (which is to die for), a baked potato, baked beans and banana pudding. Gabe had a large bowl of macaroni.  You can never go wrong with macaroni for a 2 year old.

Gabe picked out these shoes on a little shopping trip.  I'm excited for him to wear them with jeans this fall.  I liked the grey ones, but he insisted on black.

Bubble Time on the front porch while waiting for the Ribs to grill

I'm really looking forward to this coming weekend!  Hayes Baker will be making an appearance in Birmingham!  Can I get a Woop Woop?!?

Gabe Funnies

I'm going to start documenting little moments when Gabe makes me laugh.  I think it will be fun to look back on.

Gabe, "What's your name?"
Me, "Mommy, What's your name?"
Gabe, "Gabe"
Gabe, "What's your name?"
Me, "Mommy"
Gabe, "Noooo, It's Alison"

??????????  How does he know that??

Gabe heard me flush the toilet:

Gabe, "Did you go pee pee in the potty?"
Me, "Yes, I did"
Gabe, "Yay Mommy!, do you want a badge?"  (badge is a marshmallow)

Gabe, "I like your boobies mommy"
Me, "uhhhh, thank you?"

When he passes gas he says:

Gabe, "I poo-pa-ped

Weekend Updates

Happy Monday! It's Bachelorette Night!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! G and I didn’t do much of anything and it was great. Friday night we got out and about with my friend Brooke. We went to Ulta and Target- both amazing places on this earth. Brooke has started a beauty review blog (HERE). Please check it out! It’s a great daily read. She has gotten me into really reviewing my beauty products before I buy them. We both found a new best friend on you tube. Her name is Kandee and she is a makeup artist. I love her personality. She has four kids and I think looks beautiful. I recommend checking out her videos. She will teach you new tricks, recommend great products, and have you laughing in a matter of minutes. This is her blog (HERE) and below is a you tube video of one of her reviews. I love this eye pallete!  I can't wait to try to look below.  There is so much you can do with it!

Isn't she pretty?  I want to be her friend.

Saturday, G and I slept till 10:30. I love that I have a kid who likes to sleep in! We also took a long nap that afternoon. I had to return a few things at the mall and wanted to purchase G an Auburn hat. He calls every hat an “Auburn hat” so I thought I should actually get him one. A must do at the mall is to ride the carousel and eat Chick-Fil-A, in G terms, “I wanna ride da elephant and eat chicka filet. So we did. I rode the pig.

Sunday was church and another lazy afternoon. I attempted to run, but for some reason my knees and ankles were hurting. I’m 26- that shouldn’t be happening yet should it?  I started a dance aerobics class about 3 weeks ago.  It kicks my you know what!  I love it though.  I feel so good after, not so much during, but great after.  Although I have to say my pants have felt a little tight in the past week or two.  I'm going to be ticked if this makes me gain weight some how.  I have a pretty high metabolism and have always been able to eat whatever and not work out and nothing happens- now the second I start working out....I'm growing- what's that about? I think it has adverse effects on me.  We shall see....I might go back to sitting on the couch and eating debbie cakes if it means I'm leaner and meaner.

Exhausted- Going to bed.

Happy 4th of July!

I watched fireworks in ATL on Sunday night at a country club/golf course downtown.  It was so cool to be able to sit on the green and watch them.  We were literally right under them.

The finale!

Monday, my Gabe returned to me and we dressed up in coordinating patriotic outfits for a mini photo shoot then went to a friend's to watch fireworks off the Vulcan here in Birmingham.  I thought he would be scared like he was last year, but he loved them!  He was wired until I laid him down at 11:30pm.  I know, I know- that's late.

I don't know what I was doing- I hope it doesn't mean anything bad in sign language

God Bless America

Uncle Sam

P.S.  I am officially caught up!  Woop Woop.  My computer is not wanting to recognize my battery cord, so blogging today has been difficult as my comp keeps dying on me- I have been blogging off and on for 3 hours!  I documented my progression....

Starting the day with peace and calmness about getting some blogging done.  G insisted I wear his hat.

Silly Break with G

Computer! Why do you do this to me? We need to have a talk.

Not happy with my comp....He's going in timeout.

This pic cracks me up.  Is it weird that I make myself laugh?  I guess this whole p.s. has been weird.....ha.  Anyways- I finished posting and this is my woop woop dance- check out the motion.
