Charlotte

A few weeks ago I traveled to Charlotte, NC to visit my friend Kristen :)  I hate not living in the same city as her.  We would have the best Bachelor viewing parties on Monday nights and an endless wardrobe due to sharing clothes.  I still at some point want us to be pregnant at the same time so we can power walk around the neighborhood together.....haha. Yes, these are the things I think about it.


I arrived on Thursday, didn't see Emily at the airport traveling to visit Jef :( booo, there is always next time).


Every Thursday in the summer, Charlotte has a "Live after 5", it's on a rooftop and they usually have a few bands, etc.  We went to dinner at Vapianos and then headed to the Live after 5.  I had so much fun.  I love stuff like this and seeing a diverse group of people.  I feel like everyone looks the same in Bham, so its nice to have a change of scenery. 

I believe this place was started in Germany.  I like the concept.  When you enter the restaurant they give you a card, you then go to a food station and order what you would like (they cook it in front of you) and you scan your card at the food station and it adds it to your bill.  You do this at each station, so that at the end of your meal they swipe your card and you pay.

Friday

We headed to Kristen's parents- I love them!  Bonnie goes all out when she has guests.  We had sandwiches for lunch and I was impressed with the spread- sooooo tasty. 

Impressed by my plate?  Don't worry, I enjoyed a cookie or two afterwards.....

Saturday night we celebrated Sean's birthday.  Kristen rented two party peddlers.......Check them out here.  It was quite the work out and lots of fun!  We peddled through downtown Charlotte stopping at pubs along the way.  People were taking pics of us and waving, we were quite the celebrities.

We then headed out "uptown" and the only pic I have is of Kristen and me at the pizza place before heading home.  Btw- best pizza of my life (they fly in the dough from NYC).

We slept in and then had lunch at, Bad Ass Burgers.  I got the Turkey Burger (with grilled apples), yum yum.

Miss them already :(

My dad's birthday was yesterday.  Gabe and I surprised him at his store with a White Velvet w/ Lemon Buttercream frosting cake from Dreamcakes!  Yum!

Weekend What What

I'm winding down at work looking at the rain out my window and wishing my car windows were not down- sigh. Fun ride home ahead.

G and I went to the Barons game on Friday night.  We had a good time, I was very surprised by his attention span to the game.  There was a rain delay for an hour and a half.....yep we waited it out.  Gabe yelled, "hey batter batter!", had chicken fingers and cotton candy and got a free jersey (that will fit him when he is 12).

Cotton Caaaaandy

Towards the end of the game he got an upset tummy :( I felt so bad for him- I pretty much bathed him in the public bathroom at the stadium- yuck.  It was a hot mess.......he ended up having a stomach virus until Saturday night.  We were up every hour or two Friday night and poor little guy was worn out.

To get out of the house, we braved the mall Sat night with several bathroom stops.  He did well!  He wanted ice cream and to ride the carousel.  I may have done a little shopping in there too.....the mall is my happy place.  I didn't this go round, but Brooke is my go to with clothing opinions.  See below all the pics on my phone from the dressing room.  I didn't purchase any of these, but some I wish I would have!  Do other people do this to??? I hope so....ha  Girls need their second opinions right?!?

Sunday morning I found Gabe in the bathroom getting himself ready.  I thought he was brushing his teeth....this is what he was doing-

We have been reading Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs before bed each night, he calls them Neatballs- cracks me up- I don't want to correct him.

Other things:

Brooke recently did a blog post on her make up organizer.  I have a similar one, and love it, so figured I should give it a shout out as well :)

Isn't she lovely???  I want to name her.

Bottom Drawer:  Eye Makeup

Second Drawer: Left Side: Blush  Right Side: Mascara and Eye Liner

First Drawer: Powders, Foundation, Primers, Bronzers and Highlighters

The top has an open lid that has four compartments, I don't really use this part of it, but I have stored a few nail polishes and lip products here. On top of my organizer I have another organizer that I found for $16.00 at a store in Homewood.  It has several compartments and I store all face wash products and creams as well as my make up brushes.  

I LOVE MY ORGANIZER!

I think I use more of what I have vs. going out and buying more and it just makes the rush of getting out the door in the mornings a little easier. 

Weekend What What

Gabe and I had a great weekend!  Sitting at work, missing him like crazy!


We went to the McWane Center on Saturday.  I think we were there for almost four hours.  He had soo much fun!

After lunch we finally purchased some Toms- Isn't he so cute modeling them?  Of course I couldn't get him to wear them to school this morning......ugh

Then on to Steel City Pops.  I had Cucumber Lime and G wanted Watermelon....he took one lick and said, I don't like it, I wanted Strawberry- sooooo I had two and he had none.

Then home to rest and watch movies :)  I let him make a homemade pizza for dinner and then I burned it by cooking it too long....argh.  So we had Spaghettio's and Trix for dinner.....oh well

Sunday was spent at the pool!
