I didn't have any plans this weekend and was playing it by ear on staying in Birmingham or going to my parents house. Gabe and I were sick earlier in the week so I knew I wanted to lay low. Friday by 7:00 I somehow lost my voice...like completely. If I attempted to talk, a squeak came out. It didn't hurt, not sure why I lost it. When I would whisper to Gabe, he would whisper back and say, "Mommy I can't hear you, you need to speak louder". haha. So, needless to say I went home to my parents, so they could communicate with Gabe, because I wasn't doing a very good job. It was a relaxing weekend. My dad grilled steaks, we watched the Auburn game and went "back to school shopping" on Sunday. My parents would take me "back to school shopping" each year growing up and since I love to shop, it's one of my favorite memories. My mom and I would go to Montgomery and then once we got home, I would model the clothes for my dad in which he would always say "ooooooo" and my mom would inform him of the deal she got or coupon she had. Fast forward to present day and Gabe gets all the attention :( so, we spend most of the time shopping for him (which I am appreciative of) but I hope to get a few items if I can, and this time I did. We went to the outlets and I got several work outfits from Gap and the Ann Taylor Loft. Gabe did really well with the Grandparents and got several pairs of pants, shirts, a jacket and a new pair of kicks. I love little boy clothes, so easy to shop for and fun.
On Saturday, we went to Russell Crossroads which is a really pretty area about 5 miles from my parents house. They had a luau dog day, but we arrived a bit late to see any dogs dressed in their Hawaiian attire. They had inflatables and we treated ourselves to the bakery section of the Catherine's Market.
They have lots of organic and healthy foods
Gabe and his Auburn cupcake- He eats the icing, I eat the cake.
Gabe's new threads..........
On Monday, we watched Gabe's uncle, play baseball on tv. He is playing for the Rockies now and they were playing in Atlanta. Gabe is obsessed with baseball, so he gets excited to see him. He tells me to brush his hair like "Josh's hair" and reminds me often that his Uncle is in the "big leagues". It's really cute. I wish Gabe could have experienced seeing him play :(, but maybe he will be included and be a part soon. That's ok though- I made it a big deal to watch him on tv and we played a game in my living room since it was a rainy/cloudy day :) Oh, and Pop Pop spoiled him this weekend with a new lefty glove (we had one, but not sure where it disappeared to) and a new bat and ball for their house. I seriously can't keep a bat out of this boy's hands.

Gabe will be stylin' in his new clothes! :)
