Gabe's first Dentist Appointment

Gabe had his first dentist appointment last Friday.  He was terrified going in.....started tearing up :(.  A nice lady in the waiting room read him a book while I completed the paper work.  His name was called and he held on to me for dear life.  They led us in a room where the dentist came to talk to him.  I was so impressed!  He got down on his level and introduced himself.  He walked through what was going to happen, the whole time he was holding Gabe's hands.  The assistant was great too.  He did everything they asked and was so brave.  No cavities!  Just need to make sure he's not having too many sprites or juices.  He chose pink bubblegum toothpaste and got to pick out a toothbrush.  They were so impressed with him they let him choose 2 toys from the toy tower.  Hopefully we have another great experience in 6 months.  He told me this morning he was ready to go back.

War Eagle Weekend

Gabe experienced his first college football game this past Saturday.  Praise the Lord, Auburn won, so Gabe will not be jinxed.  He did great!  It was hot! The sun was beating down on us the entire time, but we made it.  We survived with our double rounds of $4.00 water bottles.  Poor G got sunburned :(  I didn't even think of bringing sunscreen- ugh, awful I know.  He cracked me up cheering.  He would hear other people yell stuff and he would copy them.  He sang the fight song several times through and shook his shaker like there was no tomorrow.  I have to say he was more interested in Aubie the mascot and his cotton candy than the actual game.

A memory I will always treasure!
Thanks Pop Pop!

September Super Star

Gabe is the Super Star of the week!  They interviewed him and I learned a lot of new things about my son.

Favorite Animal: Giraffe (I would have gotten this one right)
Favorite Dessert: Vanilla Ice Cream ( I would have guessed Popsicles)
Favorite Food: Pizza ( I would have said macaroni)
Favorite Sport: Soccer (....this is new to me, apparently they played soccer the morning of these questions)
Favorite Movie:  Star Wars (Not sure where this came from, we have never seen star wars)
Favorite Color: PINK (sadly I would have guessed this one right...haha, he wants to paint his room pink...#nothappening)

My little ham :)

Gabe had his first homework assignment last week........and it was incomplete.  I know, I feel horrible. I completely forgot about it until we were walking out the door the morning it was due.  I was already running late, so I quickly handed him a marker and said, do this super fast.  He traced about 5 "Gabe's" and then he was over it.  I didn't make him finish, because my morning and sanity was worth more. ha.

Gabe's second homework assignment.  We did this one! Yay us.

Last week

I helped my friend out and watched her 3 kids.  We went to Tortugas for Pizza and then Sno Biz for dessert.  It was crazy!  As you can see below I was driving a school bus.  Erin has an 8 year old, Emma and I could not have done it without her.  Such a help!  I have always said I wanted kids back to back so they would be close in age, but now I am seeing the benefit of Gabe being a little older.  I will put him to work!

One 8 year old, Two 3.5 year olds, and One 17 month old- Whew!

I may have gotten a surprise at work this week :)

Weekend Wrap

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  Back to reality today- waaa waaa.

I didn't have any plans this weekend and was playing it by ear on staying in Birmingham or going to my parents house.  Gabe and I were sick earlier in the week so I knew I wanted to lay low.  Friday by 7:00 I somehow lost my voice...like completely.  If I attempted to talk, a squeak came out.  It didn't hurt, not sure why I lost it.  When I would whisper to Gabe, he would whisper back and say, "Mommy I can't hear you, you need to speak louder". haha.  So, needless to say I went home to my parents, so they could communicate with Gabe, because I wasn't doing a very good job.  It was a relaxing weekend.  My dad grilled steaks, we watched the Auburn game and went "back to school shopping" on Sunday.  My parents would take me "back to school shopping" each year growing up and since I love to shop,  it's one of my favorite memories.  My mom and I would go to Montgomery and then once we got home, I would model the clothes for my dad in which he would always say "ooooooo" and my mom would inform him of the deal she got or coupon she had.  Fast forward to present day and Gabe gets all the attention :( so, we spend most of the time shopping for him (which I am appreciative of) but I hope to get a few items if I can, and this time I did.  We went to the outlets and I got several work outfits from Gap and the Ann Taylor Loft.  Gabe did really well with the Grandparents and got several pairs of pants, shirts, a jacket and a new pair of kicks.  I love little boy clothes, so easy to shop for and fun.

On Saturday, we went to Russell Crossroads which is a really pretty area about 5 miles from my parents house.  They had a luau dog day, but we arrived a bit late to see any dogs dressed in their Hawaiian attire.  They had inflatables and we treated ourselves to the bakery section of the Catherine's Market.

They have lots of organic and healthy foods

Gabe and his Auburn cupcake- He eats the icing, I eat the cake.

Gabe's new threads..........

On Monday, we watched Gabe's uncle, play baseball on tv.  He is playing for the Rockies now and they were playing in Atlanta.  Gabe is obsessed with baseball, so he gets excited to see him.  He tells me to brush his hair like "Josh's hair" and reminds me often that his Uncle is in the "big leagues".  It's really cute.  I wish Gabe could have experienced seeing him play :(, but maybe he will be included and be a part soon.   That's ok though- I made it a big deal to watch him on tv and we played a game in my living room since it was a rainy/cloudy day :) Oh, and Pop Pop spoiled him this weekend with a new lefty glove (we had one, but not sure where it disappeared to) and a new bat and ball for their house.  I seriously can't keep a bat out of this boy's hands.

Sick day

G and I were home yesterday and today. He has been running a fever since Sunday and my throat and ears have been bothering me. I took G to the doc and he has an infection in both ears. Poor guy, although he says they do not hurt. He has been extra cuddly though :-) .  We took a trip to target and he may have gotten a few items. #spoiled

I may have treated myself as well :)

Even though little buddy was sick- he was sick in style

Shhhhhh....It's a Seacret

Seacret is a line of skin care products with minerals from the Dead Sea.  I'm sure you have seen the vendor booths in the mall and have been chased down by one of their sales people- ha.  I have to say annoying when I am carrying a 3 year old and in a hurry.  This particular line is now being sold like Mary Kay.  I have a connection who is selling these products so I kinda have the hook up :)  Check out some of my stash below.  I love the mineral salt body scrub and I follow it with the body butter.  It leaves a healthy sexy glow on my skin.  I recently received a mud mask, facial serum and face moisturizer.  I love the serum, its infused with vitamins and minerals and I feel great about putting this on my skin twice a day- can't hurt it right?  I also love the mud mask, check out my scary pic below.  I have considered attempting to sell these, but they can be kinda pricey and I am not really a sales person.....HATE asking people to buy stuff.  So, I thought I would try them out for a while, and if I fall in love and am passionate about, I may take a stab at it.

If you are interested in checking out the Seacret line click here to see all their products.

End of July/August begins

Last weekend I went to my parents house.  I slept in, took naps and laid out by the pool. Gabe got to ride a miniature horse, help feed the animals, ride the four wheeler and swim.  :)

G and his bestest friend in the whole wide world

No fear

haha

Gabe Funnies

I wish I had these on video- because you need to hear his cute little whisper.

One night I was lying next to Gabe trying to go to sleep and he whispers, (after it's been silent for 30 minutes or so in pitch black darkness), "Mommy, can we make cupcakes when it's sunny?"  Me: "Yes, Gabe, please go to sleep", "Ok, we will sleep then make cupcakes when its sunny" , Me: "Yes, Gabe, go to sleep!"

Another night: I wake up to Gabe saying "Mommy, Mommy, I want to go to the pool"  Me: (half out of it) "What??"  Gabe: "I want to go the pool right now"  (I look at my phone and it's 4am.............)  Sigh, I roll over and say "Gabe, go to sleep!"

Charlotte

A few weeks ago I traveled to Charlotte, NC to visit my friend Kristen :)  I hate not living in the same city as her.  We would have the best Bachelor viewing parties on Monday nights and an endless wardrobe due to sharing clothes.  I still at some point want us to be pregnant at the same time so we can power walk around the neighborhood together.....haha. Yes, these are the things I think about it.

I arrived on Thursday, didn't see Emily at the airport traveling to visit Jef :( booo, there is always next time).

Every Thursday in the summer, Charlotte has a "Live after 5", it's on a rooftop and they usually have a few bands, etc.  We went to dinner at Vapianos and then headed to the Live after 5.  I had so much fun.  I love stuff like this and seeing a diverse group of people.  I feel like everyone looks the same in Bham, so its nice to have a change of scenery.

I believe this place was started in Germany.  I like the concept.  When you enter the restaurant they give you a card, you then go to a food station and order what you would like (they cook it in front of you) and you scan your card at the food station and it adds it to your bill.  You do this at each station, so that at the end of your meal they swipe your card and you pay.

I chose the Pasta station-

Now on to Live after 5

Large crown and stage

The band was really good and of course we were front and center

Friday

We headed to Kristen's parents- I love them!  Bonnie goes all out when she has guests.  We had sandwiches for lunch and I was impressed with the spread- sooooo tasty.

Impressed by my plate?  Don't worry, I enjoyed a cookie or two afterwards.....

Mr. Rob is quite the Margarita Maker

By far, the best Marg I have ever had

ha!

A little volleyball action

I like how our arms are all in "ready mode"

After using my mad skills in volleyball I needed to rest with Bonnie's summer drink, "Pink Bikini"

Saturday

Love them

Toni and Whit met in Germany and he will be moving to the states soon!

Brewery Tour

I always take a picture of my food....

Corn hole- this was my second time to play EVER- I get really intense

Evening

Saturday night we celebrated Sean's birthday.  Kristen rented two party peddlers.......Check them out here.  It was quite the work out and lots of fun!  We peddled through downtown Charlotte stopping at pubs along the way.  People were taking pics of us and waving, we were quite the celebrities.

Here we go!

One of our pub stops

We had 20 people, so 2 trolleys

The bday boy

We may have sang karaoke on the bike

We then headed out "uptown" and the only pic I have is of Kristen and me at the pizza place before heading home.  Btw- best pizza of my life (they fly in the dough from NYC).

Sunday

We slept in and then had lunch at, Bad Ass Burgers.  I got the Turkey Burger (with grilled apples), yum yum.

Miss them already :(

I get to see Kristen again in September! woo hoo
