This post probably just applies to the females out there. At my new place of work, I visit the cafeteria quite often. Becky, the lady that works there, is very social, and always strikes up a conversation with anyone. She is maybe in her mid 30s. She always greets me with a "hey sweetie" and sends me off with a "bye hun" or "alright baby". Isn't it interesting how some of these phrases can just flow out of someone's mouth? and not be weird....it just goes with their personality. I, on the other hand, cannot pull this off. I know for a fact all of my friends would be completely weirded out if we got off the phone and I said, "Bye Hun". It gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about saying it. haha. Is there an age that you start to say these things? Most of the time, it is said to someone younger....which makes me wonder if I look 12. Even in my previous job, I would be on the phone with a total stranger, and they would say "May I put you on hold for a second sweetie?" I don't know. I just don't get it.
Just thought I would share, alright sweeties.
Alison
